I Cook, Therefore I am
Gnocchi for Simon, risotto for Christine, fried chicken for Lulu. That was my weekend. We're still a pretty picky family, but at least we have our preferences. As the music blasted (old Elton John, new Fergie, reliable Fountains of Wayne), I realized I am still happiest in the kitchen. A man, a spoon, a canal ... uh, no, that doesn't work. Anyway, as long as I can pay the bills, I can still make dinner.
On the book front, we're just 7 weeks away from publication. But who's counting?!

Yay, gnocchi's still in the rotation! Good stuff. I was marveling yesterday as my kids ate ropa vieja (Cuban-style shredded beef) with black beans and rice. It was delicious, but I didn't expect them to eat it. So glad they did, though. It may come back tomorrow re-purposed inside some burritos with some refried beans.
The only food palindrome I know is "bird rib."
Glad you're still happy in the kitchen. It's my happiest place as well.
Cheers--Lisa
P.S. Maybe you can try to swing a Whole Foods visit up this way--Cambridge, Woburn, or Bedford, MA on your book tour?
